A wall of clothes in the middle of the room had two main references for Alfredo Ledesma. One was the Andean ritual under which all the clothes of his deceased grandmother were taken to the river to be washed, this in following of a rite of passage that appears well described by the indigenous writer Waman Puma in 1612-15. The other reference was “the wall as a delimitation of space that speaks of the political circumstances that people requesting asylum and migrants face”.
